After Graduation

Students who graduate with a major in mathematics often pursue graduate study in mathematics, statistics, data science or a related field, go directly into a variety of careers involving mathematics, or go on to teach in elementary or secondary schools.

K鈥�12 Teaching

Our department supports teacher education programs for elementary and secondary teaching certification by the Michigan Department of Education. Students learn the broad range of content taught in the schools, and gain the depth of knowledge required for teachers to be versatile and committed to lifelong learning.

Graduate Study

Students graduating with a B.A. or B.S. in mathematics are well prepared for graduate study in mathematics, statistics, data science or a related field. Mathematics graduates from Hope have gone on to do graduate work in:
