Three ÐÜèÔÚÏßÊÓƵ athletes have been honored as players of the week by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
FOOTBALL
Senior receiver Jake Schrock of Clarksville (Lakewood HS) is the football offensive
player of the week. He caught four touchdown passes on receptions of 24, 36, 38 and
58 yards in a 45-28 loss to Wheaton last Saturday. In the game, he caught five passes
for 170 yards. He has seven touchdown pass receptions through three games.
MEN'S SOCCER
Senior Tyler Basler of Auburn (Auburn Western HS) is the men's soccer offensive co-player
of the week, sharing the honor with Joel Veldhouse of Calvin, a senior from Sioux
Falls, S.D. (Sioux Falls Christian HS). Basler scored a goal in each of two league
victories over Tri-State and Olivet while Veldhouse had a hat trick in the Knight's
win over Adrian and scored the put-away goal in the Knight's win over Albion.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
Junior midfielder Tess Scholz of Portage (Portage Northern HS) is the MIAA women's
soccer defensive player of the week. Last week she keyed a defense that gained a 2-2
tie with Calvin and 7-0 win over Tri-State. Against Tri-State she scored a goal as
a defender.
