Turlington Research Group
The Turlington lab is working to lower prescription drug costs by making organic building blocks from the inexpensive chemical byproduct acetonitrile.
Acetonitrile can be functionalized at transition metals using oxygen atoms or positively-charged fluorine atoms to make metal-imidos. Metal-imidos react with a variety of organic molecules to make value-added building blocks for pharmaceuticals and agricultural products.
