Off-Campus Study
We are so excited that you are considering studying off-campus! Studying in another part of the world or country can be a valuable part of your academic journey, and further prepare you to participate in a global society.
鈥淚 am a first-generation, pre-med, biochemistry major who was able to study abroad in Chile for a whole semester! You can study abroad, too!鈥

Some things to consider as a chemistry major as you plan your off-campus study experience:
- Most chemistry majors study off-campus at some point during their junior year, though some have also done this during their senior year.
- Meet with your academic advisor to determine the courses you need and meet with an
off-campus study advisor to identify programs that can meet those requirements. In
the past, chemistry students have taken courses such as:
- Toxicology
- Biochemistry
- Inorganic Chemistry
- Physical Chemistry
- Early planning is essential to figure out how an off campus study experience can fit within your academic plan, particularly credits counting toward your major (and provide appropriate course descriptions).
