Melissa Hill
Assistant Professor of Nursing InstructionProfessor Melissa Hill has more than two decades of clinical experience as a registered nurse, including five years as a neonatal intensive care unit clinical educator at Ascension Saint Alexius Hospital. She began teaching at ÐÜèÔÚÏßÊÓƵ in 2016 and taught before that at Loyola University’s Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing.
In recent years her ÐÜèÔÚÏßÊÓƵ courses have included Health Assessment; Nursing Internship; and Maternity and Women’s Health Theory. She also has taught Obstetric Nursing Theory and basic and advanced skills courses, and works with individual students during their practicums and internships.
Professor Hill is currently working as a nurse on the staff of the Special Care Nursery at Holland Hospital, where she has worked part-time since 2017. Earlier she served in clinical positions at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, Children’s Memorial Hospital, and Lurie Children’s in Chicago.

Outside the College
Professor Hill loves spending time with her family. She has been married to her husband, Brian, since 2008. Her three children, Maggie, Samantha and Tate, keep her busy! She loves supporting them in their sports and hobbies. She also loves spending time at the beach in the summer, traveling, finding good restaurants, running and reading a good book.
