Van Vleck Hall has 20 rooms, houses 40 students and is an all-female hall. It was built in 1857 and is the oldest building on campus. Van Vleck is named for the Rev. John Van Vleck, the first principal of the Holland Academy, which was the predecessor of the college. Van Vleck was restored in 1980.
