We believe that students learn science best by doing science. At Hope, we provide new and interesting ways for you to do biology, not just learn about it.
The biology department will introduce you to the broad scope of knowledge about living things and cultivate the craft of scientific inquiry.
You’ll leave our department:
- Prepared for a job or graduate study in any of biology’s subdisciplines or the health professions
- Equipped to create and communicate your knowledge of the living world
- Able to adapt to ever-changing fields within biology — and the job market
Our vision is to be a widely recognized premier undergraduate biology program that supports diversity and promotes equity and inclusion.
Our mission is to discover, create and share the broad scale of knowledge of diverse living things through rigorous curriculum, effective teaching and innovative faculty-student collaborative research.
